Serrapeptase (also known as Serrapeptase) is an enzyme, with powerful anti-inflammatory properties and profound benefits in the reduction of pain. Serrapeptase is the main active ingredient in SerraEnzyme, which is available in two strengths, 80,000 IU’s and 250,000 IU’s.

Serrapeptase has been used successfully in Europe and Asia for many years, with many studies and trials being undertaken, proving that this powerful enzyme is an impressive treatment for pain and inflammation. There have been no known side effects with Serrapeptase and it will not interfere with any medicine being taken. It is safe enough for children (over the age of 2 years) to take and for pregnant women; both pre and post natal.

The SerraEnzyme capsules are enteric-coated; if unprotected in this way, the enzyme can be destroyed by acid in the stomach; however enteric-coated tablets & capsules enable the enzyme to pass through the stomach unchanged and be absorbed in the intestine. Tests show that Serrapeptase is transported directly from the intestine into the bloodstream.

Sadly this happens quite a lot with products that do not carry a Medical License, which is difficult to obtain for natural products.

However, the company that we have been purchasing our Serrapeptase products from, also carry a range for Pets, which is called SerraPet and has been available for many years, a long time before the company was prohibited from selling Serrapeptase. It has exactly the same ingredients as the regular SerraEnzymes and because it is labelled for Pets use, the company is allowed to advertise and sell it, as goods for Pets do not come under the same restrictions as products for humans.
